Y u guys mix hacking with stupid tricks ...hacking is an act in which the vulnerability of a machine is find to carry out the attacks...like the common vulnerability found in 2007 like xss(cross site scripting), sql injection , brute attack,trojan attack, buffer overflow ,memory leak,denial of service attack, javascript attack,pulse attack,date attack etc ... All these are name of attacks .. Like Orkut.com , facebook,myspace etc community based sites mostly vulnerable to xss and can be hacked by this attack... The other like hacking an yahoo,gmail id while chattin can be done by trojan attack , email hacking can be done by pop or telnet bruting, servers or sites can be hacked by bruteforce on ftp links ..carried out from client end or from the other server php brute script, sniffing a network, sniffing voip calls, sniffing mobiles,bluetooth attack via bluebug ,hellomoto etc vulnerabilities etc etc ..so these r attacks comes under hacking ...that lil tricks proxyfyin n tunneling r not attacks they r the methods *

besides to hack somethin we fist collect info about our target machine.. umm ..k suppost we have to hack www.xyz.com website we first collect the whois info, then find out out the location of the server n then try to create a tunnel near the server location so as to increse our attackin speed, now we scan the ip of the server with port scanners to find out if some unused port is open n as soon as we got the port we do the port knocking attack to implement the ftp settings on it to carry out our work ( data pipelining is created) . now if there is no port open then we look to hack via bruting ftp ftp.xyz.com or ftp.xyz.com:21 ,21 is the default ftp port now using brute forcers we do bruting either from client end or via some x server with php scripts , even if this is not successfull we have other attacks we find out the holes in the site like checking all links for valid working , checking search type boxes to look for xss attack and if we got we do xss database attack ,noe going more deep if that attack is also not working we find login page n try to insert our sql tags to carry out sql injection ... lol even if it dont work we send administrator with a xss made or trojan mixed email after he check we get the server details .....n yea if nothing works DOS(denial of service) attack obviously gonna work coz its vulnerability present in TCP/IP n is not corrected till now fully coz we now embedded in tcp based networking n its worldwide.....
:) ... btw the attacks i written here above almost 85% websites on internet are vulnerable to it so success chances are very bright *wink wink* *
